UV A1 light therapy against neurodermatitis (atopic eczema)

The Saalux UV-comb (UV A1-comb) is used for UV irradiation of smaller lesions, especially on the scalp. During the therapy, the diseased skin areas are treated in sections. In case of appropriate hair growth, it is necessary to part the hair so that the UV radiation can reach the scalp. The transparent removable cover of the UV radiator has two outer rows of combs for this purpose. These rows of combs also serve as spacers to the skin and should therefore always be used even in hair-free areas. This is the only way to ensure a constant irradiance.

Due to the large irradiation area and high radiation intensity, the Saalux UV comb enables effective therapy. The very low weight and the special design facilitate handling during therapy.

The large, removable cover protects the UV comb incl. the UV radiator from contamination and is extremely easy to clean after therapy.

UV protective goggles are indispensable for safe use; they absorb the UV radiation but allow visible light to pass through easily. The short-time timer features extra large digits and an audible beep.

Contraindications - UV light therapy should not be used in the case of ...

• tumorous skin changes
• pathological hypersensitivity of the skin to light (e.g. xeroderma pigmentosa)
• Porphyrin diseases
• Florid tuberculosis or other lorid processes
• Hyperthyroidism
• lupus erythematosus
• concomitant drug treatment with potential skin damage
• increased light sensitivity
